There's a wordplay hidden in the WWDC 2024 invitations

Yesterday, Apple officially announced the dates for this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). We've been talking about the upcoming features we will see in this important event for months. And it seems that a wordplay hidden in the invitations indicates that the assumptions and rumors are on the right track.

WWDC 2024 to be loaded with Artificial Intelligence

Greg Joswiak, Vice President of Marketing and one of Apple's key figures, used his Twitter account yesterday to encourage the public to mark their calendars for WWDC 2024, describing it as "Absolutely Incredible". What's interesting about this message is not just the enthusiasm it may convey, but the initials of "Absolutely Incredible" highlight the letters "AI", suggesting that Apple will place a significant focus on artificial intelligence at this WWDC.

We've known for some time that iOS 18 will incorporate, even with the help of ChatGPT and Gemini, a significant amount of artificial intelligence-powered features throughout the system. Many of these innovations have already been confirmed, and they will allow us to enjoy everything from a much more powerful Siri and intelligent responses in the Messages app, to the creation of videos from text, editing images with voice commands to Siri, automating software development with Xcode, and more.

Tim Cook even stated that Apple is "investing a tremendous amount of time and effort in developing artificial intelligence technology" to enhance the native applications of the system. And that the company is ready to "break new ground" in this innovative field this very year 2024.

Therefore, especially iOS 18, but also macOS 15 and other operating system updates, will incorporate advanced AI features in many of their integrated applications. Something that this subtle wordplay in the invitations seems to confirm. Apple is clearly setting the stage for announcements that, although we think we know, will surely take us by surprise.
