How to clean up Wi-Fi networks on our Apple devices and ensure the best connection speed

Nowadays, virtually every activity we carry out on our devices requires an internet connection. Fortunately, we live in a time where Wi-Fi access points are found everywhere: from coffee shops to museums and train stations. However, over time, the list of stored networks can become cluttered. It is vital to clean up the Wi-Fi networks on our Apple devices to ensure an optimal connection.

A network for each location for quick connection

Over time, we save many networks on our Mac. Networks to which the computer can connect. How do we clean this up? As easy as following these steps:

  1. We select System Settings in the Apple () menu.
  2. We go into Network.
  3. We click on Wi-Fi.
  4. At the bottom, we click on Advanced.
  5. At the bottom, we can see a list of all the Wi-Fi networks we have ever connected to. We select the network we wish to delete.
  6. We click the button shaped like three dots and choose Remove from list.

The available networks are synchronized across all our devices, so if we have a Mac, just do the cleaning on this, and our iPhone or iPad will synchronize the changes.

If we only have an iPhone or iPad, we can delete the lists by following these steps:

  1. We open the Settings app on our iPhone or iPad.
  2. We go into Wi-Fi.
  3. We tap the Edit button on the top right.
  4. We tap the "-" button next to the name of the network we want to delete and press Delete.
  5. When finished, we tap OK.

Thanks to this cleanup, our Mac, iPad, or iPhone will know exactly which networks to connect to and will prevent it from connecting to the wrong network when several are available. Something we can easily remedy, but it takes some time.

Maintaining organization in our Wi-Fi networks not only provides a better browsing experience but also contributes to the efficiency of our devices.
