ChatGPT ya puede leernos sus respuestas: cómo funciona

The official ChatGPT app for our iPhone and iPad has introduced a small novelty that makes it even easier to interact with this artificial intelligence-based chatbot: the ability to read its answers aloud. This functionality, announced by OpenAI, adds an additional layer of voice-based interaction, complementing the existing Voice Chat, which allows us to communicate conversationally with the chatbot, opting to speak instead of type.

Our answers, out loud

The feature to read the answers aloud is clearly marked in the web version of ChatGPT. There, next to the lower buttons to copy the content or to regenerate an answer, appears the speaker button. On the iPhone and iPad, however, through the service's app, this possibility is much less visible.

To access the reading, simply press and hold the chatbot's response and select "Read aloud". We will also find options to play, pause, or rewind the reading, which allows us to navigate through sections of longer texts.

OpenAI highlights that the purpose of this function is to improve accessibility for users with visual or reading difficulties. Beyond that, however, it offers us a way to interact more comfortably. A feature that joins dictation, already available for several versions, and that allows us to send a message to the chatbot thanks to the company's voice recognition system, Whisper.

Version by version, the ChatGPT app for our iPhone or iPad improves in small details that, cumulatively, are key to the use we give to Open AI's artificial intelligence network. On this occasion, the possibility to listen to any response whenever we prefer not to read it.
