Apple sent out press invitations several days ago for an Apple Experience next Wednesday, March 4. It will take place in New York, London, and Shanghai and, although we do not know all the details of what we may see, rumors are keeping us informed. According to Mark Gurman, the company will unveil new products each day from Monday the 2nd through Wednesday itself.
The main highlight will be the new iPhone 17e, but we expect Apple to surprise us with several updates across different devices and perhaps even a surprise. A different kind of launch, without the traditional live event, since, as far as we know, Apple will release the announcements on its website and through press releases, accompanied by short videos showing us the new features. Once the products are presented, attendees at the Apple Experience will be able to see them firsthand and tell us more, but which ones are they and what do we know about these products?
The iPhone 17e, the week’s big release
If there is one device drawing all the attention, it is the iPhone 17e, the update to the iPhone 16e that Apple introduced a year ago. A model that, as far as we know, will keep its price at €709 and become the most affordable way to enter the current iPhone generation.
Among the most notable changes, we are talking about a new 3-nanometer A19 chip, which will deliver higher performance and improvements in energy efficiency. In addition, the iPhone 17e will incorporate MagSafe for the first time, opening the door to 15 W wireless charging and the use of the full ecosystem of magnetic accessories.
The new iPhone will debut Apple’s C1X modem, up to twice as fast as its predecessor, and could include the N1 chip with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Thread, making it even better prepared for connectivity and the smart home.
As for the design, rumors differ slightly. Some leaks point to the arrival of the Dynamic Island, while others suggest that Apple will keep the notch. The display will remain at 60 Hz, without an always-on option, and in the camera department we will find the 48-megapixel rear camera and the 12-megapixel front camera that are delivering such strong results in the current generation.
A week full of announcements (and possible surprises)
Beyond the iPhone, rumors speak of more devices. The list of candidates is long and very interesting:
- A new MacBook with an A18 Pro chip, a 12.9-inch display, and available in several fun colors like those shown in the event invitation.
- A refreshed iPad Air with the M4 chip, taking a step forward in Apple Intelligence and graphics performance.
- An updated entry-level iPad with the A18 or A19 chip, ideal when we are looking for a modern iPad without raising the price.
- New MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with M5 chips, which would also introduce PCIe 5.0 support in the Pro versions, significantly improving SSD speeds.
- A new Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra, aimed at professionals seeking maximum power.
There is more, however, as rumors also mention a new Home Hub with a 6–7-inch display, full integration with Apple Intelligence and FaceTime, accompanied by a new Apple security camera compatible with HomeKit. The possibility of two new mini-LED Studio Display models is even being considered, although some rumors believe that would be too much for a single week.
What we can expect from this Apple Experience
Everything indicates that we are on the verge of three consecutive days of announcements, culminating in Wednesday’s surprises, when Apple will allow guests to try the new devices in person. The company already used this launch strategy in 2019 and 2024 and would now repeat it once again.
If the rumors are correct, the week of March 2 to 4 will bring us the new iPhone 17e as well as the first MacBook with an iPhone chip, accompanied by improvements across several iPad and Mac models and new devices for our home. Apple has already shown us that it can surprise us without the need for a big stage, and everything suggests that this time it will succeed again.
