Since its launch five years ago, Apple TV+ has proven to be a significant competitor in the crowded streaming platform market. And, despite having the smallest catalog, it stands out for other strong points. This is what a recent study by Self Financial has uncovered.

Apple TV+: Quality over Quantity

Self Financial conducted an analysis on which streaming service offers the best value for money. In this regard, it compared, among others, IMDb ratings for content available on the main streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, HBO Max, Paramount+, and, of course, Apple TV+ (which is not the same as Apple TV or the Apple TV app).

And, apparently, although Amazon Prime Video leads the list with the highest number of rated titles, 13,827; Apple TV+, despite having the smallest content catalog, with only 271 titles available, manages to stand out for the high quality of its productions.

For three consecutive years, its content has been the highest-rated on IMDb, with an impressive average of 7.01 out of 10. Being its star series Ted Lasso and also standing out on the quality of its 4K content.

Furthermore, while Netflix continues to dominate in the sports and technology categories, the study also reveals that Apple TV+ is the highest-rated streaming service (7.3/10) regarding family content and for children under 7 years old, with shows like Fraggle Rock and The Snoopy Show.

The focus on quality over quantity of Apple TV+ (which we can have for free in these 5 ways) demonstrates that a vast catalog is not necessarily synonymous with success in the competitive world of streaming.
