Apple TV hace historia en los Emmy 2026- supera a Netflix y HBO Max

Apple TV was the big star of the 2026 Emmy Awards. This past September 14, Apple’s streaming platform walked away from the 78th edition of the awards with 28 statuettes, putting it ahead of HBO Max, Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+.

Apple TV achieves its best result in Emmy history

For the first time since 2019, Apple TV left the Emmys as the platform with the most awards. Its 28 wins beat HBO Max’s 21, Netflix’s 16, Prime Video’s 10, and Disney’s 6. In addition, Apple, as a company, won one more Emmy for its advertising, bringing the total to 29 awards. Not bad at all.

The main reason behind this success was Widow’s Bay. The horror comedy, released earlier this year, won 14 awards, setting a new record as the comedy with the most awards won in a single season. In fact, the previous record also belonged to Apple TV, when The Studio won 13.

‘Widow’s Bay’ and ‘Pluribus’ lead the Awards

Widow’s Bay ended the night with the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, along with acting awards for Matthew Rhys, Stephen Root, and Kate O’Flynn. Katie Dippold was recognized for writing, Hiro Murai for directing, and Betty Gilpin won the award for guest actress during the Creative Arts Emmys.

Alongside it, Pluribus finished with 6 statuettes. Rhea Seehorn won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while Vince Gilligan took home the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. Slow Horses also added another award for Apple TV thanks to Saul Metzstein’s directing.

The rest of the awards came from productions such as Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Palm Royale, and Mr. Scorsese, showing that Apple TV’s success comes from a large part of its catalog, rather than from a single strong title.

Apple TV moves ahead of its biggest rivals

For years, HBO and Netflix have been the main stars of the Emmys. This year, Apple TV has managed to move ahead with new productions and already familiar series that continue to strengthen its platform.

Really, Apple TV has been on an upward trajectory since it began. And now it has an increasingly strong presence among the biggest names in television. For those of us who enjoy its series (these are all the Apple TV releases coming in 2026), Apple TV is now going through one of its best moments.
