Cómo ecualizar el sonido de los AirPods

AirPods have become an essential accessory for many of us, largely because they offer exceptional sound quality. Yet, to go a bit further, there is an aspect that often goes unnoticed: equalization. Thanks to equalization, we can customize the sound of the AirPods to adapt it to our preferences and improve the listening experience in a matter of seconds.

Equalizing AirPods on iPhone, iPad, and Mac

AirPods are optimized to work with Apple devices, but their compatibility extends beyond that. As Bluetooth headphones, AirPods can connect to a vast variety of devices, each with its own equalization options. However, we will now focus on how to equalize sound on Apple devices: the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

On the iPhone and iPad, equalization is carried out through the Settings app. Within this app, we access the Music section and then enter Equalizer. Here we find different options that adjust to various musical genres and preferences, among which we can choose and activate with a single touch. It is important to mention, however, that this configuration applies only to the Music app; other applications may have their own equalization settings.

On the Mac, the process is similar. We open the Music app and in the Window menu select Equalizer. Here, the tool presents us with various options, including the activation of equalization, general gain adjustments, and individual frequency settings. We can choose from preset settings, the same as on the iPhone or iPad, but unlike them, on the Mac we can also customize the equalization according to our preferences.

In addition, on Mac, there are applications like Boom2 that allow us to equalize the sound of the entire computer, not just the Music app. Useful tools if the application we use to play music does not have its own equalizer or if we want to improve the sound quality when watching videos or listening to music in Safari, for example.

Undoubtedly, equalization is a very personal matter. Some people prefer a sound with more powerful bass, while others opt for a more neutral balance. The essential thing here is that, just like when activating and setting up personalized spatial audio on our AirPods, with a simple visit to the Settings or Music app, we can find the adjustment that we like the most and suits our needs. And with that, make the AirPods sound better than ever.
