How to delete people from the sharing sheet on the iPhone

Cómo eliminar personas de la hoja de compartir del iPhone

It's in the share sheet, the one that appears when we tap the little square with the arrow pointing up, where we have all the options to send content to anyone. Our favorite apps appear, system options, and even our shortcuts. And on top of everything, there are the people with whom we might want to share the content. But can we remove people from that share sheet on the iPhone?

How to remove specific contacts

At the top of the share sheet, suggestions of contacts with whom we have recently interacted are presented. These suggestions are based on our past interactions, which can be convenient, but there are times when we would prefer to exclude certain contacts from these suggestions. Fortunately, iOS allows us to communicate our preference with a few simple steps:

  1. Open any content that can be shared and tap the Share button to access the sheet in question.
  2. Press and hold the contact we want to make disappear.
  3. Select Suggest Less.

This way, we let the system know that although we do not want to completely remove that person from the suggestions, we do want them to appear less. If we repeat these same steps a few more times, when we see that the person in question appears again, we will quickly make them practically disappear completely.

How to remove all suggested contacts

If what we want is to completely eliminate the strip of suggested people in the share sheet, the approach is different. In this case, the steps to follow are:

  1. Open the Settings app on our iPhone or iPad.
  2. Go to Siri & Search.
  3. Under the title "Apple Suggestions", turn off Show When Sharing.

With this, the contacts will disappear completely. A setting, unlike making just some people disappear—for which we would simply have to wait for them to reappear—that is reversible. If we change our mind, we can re-enable Show When Sharing at any time.

Customizing the share sheet might seem like a minor detail, but it actually makes all the sense in the world if we consider how often we access this section of our iPhone or iPad. Being able to have at hand the people to whom we usually send content is undoubtedly extremely convenient.
