In the heart of Shanghai, close to the historic Jing'an Temple, Apple has unveiled its latest addition: the Jing'an Apple Store. And the first photos reveal a spacious and beautiful circular store. Let's take a look.
Apple launches a new Apple Store in Shanghai
Apple has been a prominent figure in China for over 30 years, innovating and delivering exceptional products and services. Now, the opening of Apple Jing'an marks its eighth store in Shanghai.
Located just steps from Jing'an Temple and the park of the same name, the new Apple Store stands out for its circular design, surrounded by an exterior plaza intended to become a community meeting point for special events. As visitors approach the store, they are greeted by a path flanked by maples leading to an impressive view of the temple.
The store itself, where customers are invited to explore all of Apple's products and services, from the new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Airs with M3 chip to the new Apple Watch straps, is divided into two open, airy floors.
These are accessed via stairs resting against curved walls, which extend to form a kind of amphitheater that will host Today at Apple sessions, celebrating the local community and its creators. This emphasizes the concept of the circular throughout the store, inside and out.
In an environment that highlights Apple's commitment to the environment, with sustainably sourced and locally extracted Padang Light stone walls, Deirdre O’Brien, Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail, expressed the company's enthusiasm for opening a store that “perfectly blends the traditional with the modern, complementing this historic neighborhood in Shanghai ideally”.
The Jing'an Apple Store aims not only to be a store but a space for cultural and technological encounters. To celebrate its opening, it will feature a special performance by the youngest members of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and from then on, it will offer a special six-week Today at Apple program that pays homage to the local community and its creators.
