How often do we need to share movie tickets, boarding passes, or any other type of pass from our Wallet app with other people? Inspired by the NameDrop system introduced in iOS 17.2, sharing this content with others through AirDrop with a simple gesture takes just seconds.
Share with Ease: AirDrop in the Wallet App
The essence of the system for sending content from the Wallet app lies in its simplicity. To share an item, we simply open the Wallet app, select the pass we want to send, and bring our iPhone close to another iPhone. Automatically, a Share button will appear below the item. Pressing it will transfer the item to the other iPhone via AirDrop.
It's true that we can continue to share Wallet app items via Messages or Email, but considering that we often have the person with us who needs the content, using a simple gesture is clearly much more convenient.
A system that, similar to NameDrop, allows us to exchange contacts in the blink of an eye, is now expanded to the app where we store tickets, passes, boarding passes, discount cards, and various other similar items.
The list of new features in iOS 17 in its .2 version extends beyond AirDrop in the Wallet app. In addition to the new Journal app, this version includes several changes in the Messages app, improvements for photos on the iPhone 15, and various other changes and bug fixes. An update, all in all, that allows us to do more with our devices.
