After its theatrical run, Disney has now announced the release date on Disney+ for its latest animated musical: Wish. This enchanting story promises to take us on a magical journey filled with adventures and valuable lessons as we discover the origin of the iconic wishing star.

What is 'Wish' about?

Directed by Chris Buck (Frozen and Tarzan) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (Raya and the Last Dragon and Zootopia), Wish tells the story of Asha (Ariana DeBose), a 17-year-old girl from the Kingdom of Rosas. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she uncovers a dark secret about Magnifico (Chris Pine), the evil ruler of her land. In search of help, Asha pleads with the stars, leading her to encounter a magical and mischievous star that has fallen from the sky, a cosmic force named Star.

However, this action triggers a series of events that put her in direct confrontation with the king, who believed he was the only one capable of granting and hoarding wishes. Together, Asha, Star, and her loyal pet Valentino embark on a journey that proves that “when the will of a brave human connects with the magic of the stars, wonderful things can happen.”

With a set of new and beautiful original songs written by Julia Michaels, Benjamin Rice, and Dave Metzger, including "Welcome To Rosas," "I'm a Star," "Knowing What I Know Now," and "A Wish Worth Making," the talented voice cast also includes Angelique Cabral, Victor Garber, Natasha Rothwell, Jennifer Kumiyama, Harvey Guillén, and Evan Peters.
