Let's gather the main highlights of each operating system.

iOS 17.2: new Journal app, improvements in Music and Messages, and much more

The iOS 17.2 update brings with it a series of really interesting improvements. The introduction of the new Journal app, which allows us to document important moments in our lives and reflect on them. This app offers journal suggestions, filters, and scheduled notifications, as well as a security option to lock the journal with Touch ID or Face ID.

Another notable feature is the translation option for the action button on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. As for the camera, users of these models will enjoy spatial video and improved telephoto focus. Moreover, the Messages app introduces a catch-up arrow to jump to the first unread message and the ability to add stickers directly to chat bubbles.

The Weather app has also received significant improvements. It now shows the expected amount of precipitation, which is especially useful for planning outdoor activities. The new widgets allow us to quickly access the forecast for the next hour, the daily forecast, sunrise and sunset times, and current conditions, such as air quality and wind speed. This update also includes an interactive wind map and a lunar calendar, valuable tools for outdoor enthusiasts and those who simply want to be more informed about weather conditions.

Other notable improvements in iOS 17.2 and iPadOS 17.2 include enhanced Siri support for accessing and recording data in the Health app using our voice. Also, improvements in AirDrop, such as the option to share boarding passes, movie tickets, and other passes simply by bringing two iPhones close together.

In the entertainment realm, the playlist of favorite songs in Apple Music and the option to disable listening history in a specific focus mode are welcome additions for music lovers.

macOS Sonoma 14.2: form autofill, improvements in Messages and Weather, and more

macOS Sonoma 14.2 focuses on efficiency and productivity. The new enhanced autofill feature for PDFs makes filling out forms easier. In Messages, the option to paste stickers directly into text bubbles and an arrow to jump to the first unread message are added.

In addition, new Weather widgets (which also now show more information) and Clock, as well as the playlist of favorite songs in Apple Music that we saw in iOS 17.2, have been incorporated. The ability to verify the integrity of conversations in the Messages app is added.

It introduces the ability to access and record health data through Siri on Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models. The option to view playback by proximity to a HomePod and the reintroduction of the option to change the watch face by swiping is also added.

The ability to confirm the end of workouts, to avoid ending them by mistake, is also added, and an error that could cause faces added from the Watch app on the iPhone not to appear on the watch is resolved.
