When we talk about chargers, we usually think of devices designed to go unnoticed, but some deserve much more attention. That’s the case with the new Ugreen Nexode 500W, a charger that marks a turning point in the world of fast charging. A charger that allows us to power multiple devices quickly, safely and comfortably.
The world’s first 500W GaN charger: from 0 to 100% in record time
With this launch, Ugreen has introduced the world’s first desktop GaN charger capable of reaching 500 W of power — a figure that, until now, seemed reserved for industrial-grade charging stations. With a remarkably compact design, it can charge up to six devices at once, delivering more than enough power for each one to charge at full speed.

We’re talking about five USB-C ports and one USB-A port, all together capable of delivering 500 W. What if we connect only one device? As long as the device supports that much power, the charger can deliver up to 240 W through a single port. That means we can charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro to 60% in just 30 minutes, and fully charge it in under an hour and a half.
Vertical design, thermal intelligence and maximum safety
One of the Nexode 500W’s greatest strengths is its design. With a vertical layout and the minimalist look typical of Ugreen, the charger takes up very little space on the desk. Add the non-slip silicone base, which lets us plug and unplug cables with one hand, and we get a charger made to be seen, ready for everyday use and action — not something to be hidden behind the monitor.
Inside, we find six GaNInfinity chips which, according to Ugreen, allow the device to reach 95% energy efficiency. This translates into less heat and more stable charging, even at maximum power. It also features a temperature control system with sensors that monitor the device’s condition up to 100 times per second. A system that guarantees the safety of both the charger and everything we plug into it.

Is that all? Not quite. It also has 11 different protection systems, covering everything from overvoltage to short circuits, interference or power surges. One of the most curious features —and the source of several hours of trial and error on our part until we figured it out— is the system that reduces power output if it detects the charger is tilted, avoiding possible heat buildup that could damage it. Details that go unnoticed, yes, but which are key to handling 500 watts of power safely.
Total power, maximum versatility
One of the best ways to show what this charger can do is to talk about it in use. We can charge up to five laptops and a phone at the same time, without a mess of cables or the need for multiple power outlets.

The Nexode 500W distributes power automatically based on each device’s needs, whether it’s a MacBook, an iPad, an iPhone or a lighter accessory. The long list of supported fast-charging protocols (PD 3.1/3.0/2.0, QC 4.0/3.0, PPS, AFC, FCP, Apple 5V2.4A or BC1.2, among others) ensures that we can charge any device in the most efficient way possible.
From the moment we unbox it, it’s clear that the Nexode 500W takes charging to the next level. Not only because it’s the first of its kind, but because it’s a well-designed, useful and safe product that fits into any workspace. A charger that makes a difference.
