In today's era, where technology is an essential part of our daily lives, learning has made a significant leap into the digital world. For almost all subjects and ages, it is now possible to access knowledge from the comfort of our devices like the iPad or Mac. In this context, Seterra stands out as one of the best apps for learning geography. It allows us to delve into the knowledge of our planet at any level, in an interesting and fun way.

Seterra: 4 clicks give us access to the entire world

With just four clicks, Seterra gives us access to a world of knowledge. Its extensive content is divided into two main sections: a wide collection of world maps, covering a variety of topics such as cities, capitals, continents, lakes, mountain ranges, islands, rivers, historical maps, deserts, tectonic plates, autonomous communities, and much more; and a huge compilation of international flags.

Seterra is very simple. When we open the application, the first thing it asks us is whether we want to learn and play with maps or flags. In the case of maps, they are organized by continent or globally. Once we choose one of these options, for example, Europe, we find a list of different types of maps both for Europe in general and for specific countries: Denmark, France, Spain…

Once we have chosen a map to play, Seterra shows us, on the right side of the screen, a summary of the names that will be asked in the game. If we have played before, we can see our best scores. And, finally, we are offered the option to "Learn" or "Play".

Seterra: learning geography is fun

In the "Learn" mode, we can move around the map and explore it calmly to familiarize ourselves with the new concepts and learn at our own pace. It's a good idea to enter this mode if we are not very familiar with the topic. And when we think we are ready for the challenge of correctly identifying the different places or geographical elements, we can click on "Play". Here, the same map appears, but now, in the bottom bar, it says "Click on [Name]".

Seterra uses a color system to indicate our performance. If we get it right the first time, the name of the element is marked in white; if we make a mistake once, in yellow; twice, in orange; and if we have already made three or more attempts, in red. After these three attempts, the correct answer flashes in red on the screen so we know where it is located.

The resulting color gradient is useful for visually identifying which questions we found most challenging. And, at the end, if we click on "Review", the same map reappears, but this time it only focuses on those questions we did not get right in the previous game so that we can integrate them again.

Seterra offers two variants. We can download the complete app for free, which we can also share using Family Sharing, or we can play Seterra online through its website. Either way, Seterra is clearly an intuitive, clean, and very, very complete platform, which even allows us to customize our own maps, and with which we will learn a lot about the beautiful planet we live on in an interesting and fun way.
