In the heart of the new Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) shopping center in Kuala Lumpur stands a building that undoubtedly captures attention: the new Apple The Exchange TRX. This store, which has been the subject of rumors for years, is about to open its doors and promises to be a landmark not only for Apple enthusiasts and technology lovers but for anyone fascinated by innovative architecture.

Apple The Exchange TRX: Apple’s first store in Malaysia features three levels of wonder

Apple The Exchange TRX will open its doors to the public on June 22nd. And from the recent images released by Apple in its press release, it's clear that its impressive exterior design in the form of a tiered pyramid is not the only surprising element. The interior also unveils a series of features that make this space a unique architectural site.

The most striking design feature of the store is the three-dimensional roof with horizontal glass panels and shading blades that reduce the impact of the sun's rays, while a central glazed oculus allows natural light to enter, complemented by a dynamic artificial lighting system. This design is not only aesthetic but also seamlessly connects the central atrium of the shopping center with a lush rooftop park that wraps around the upper level of the store, casting, in Apple's words, a warm glow at night.

Inside the store, a sculptural quartz and glass staircase connects the three levels of the building. The Forum, where the "Today at Apple" events are held, is located on a floating deck that links up with the shopping center, while the upper level directly connects to the edge of the park through a continuous glass façade.

As one might already expect, Apple The Exchange TRX operates on 100% renewable energy, reaffirming the company's commitment to sustainability. And to celebrate its opening, Apple has organized a series of workshops with prominent Malaysian creators under the "Jom Discover" series, which will run from June 22nd to July 6th. These sessions will offer insights into creative processes and the extensive possibilities offered by Apple's full range of products and services.
