This March, it is expected that Apple will refresh its iPad Pro lineup with a series of updates that will elevate our user experience. From a transition to OLED screens to the inclusion of the powerful M3 chip, there are several noteworthy details to anticipate. OLED screens and larger size
The most notable change for the new iPad Pro will undoubtedly be the switch to OLED screens. While the 11-inch model has maintained an LCD screen since its launch in 2018, and the 12.9-inch model has enjoyed mini-LED technology since 2021, this year both models are expected to adopt OLED.
This update will mark the first use of OLED screens in the iPad, which we already know from the iPhone and Apple Watch. These screens offer better black levels thanks to their ability to completely turn off pixels and superior image quality with improved contrasts and brightness.
Additionally, it is rumored that the 12.9-inch model might slightly increase in size to reach 13 inches.
New Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil
The Magic Keyboard is also rumored to be receiving a significant update. According to reports from Bloomberg, the new design will make the iPad Pro look more like a computer, with a sturdier aluminum structure, moving away from the current model's rubber material, and a larger trackpad.
A new Apple Pencil with integrated Find My feature is also anticipated, allowing us to locate it wherever we are. Plus, magnetically swappable tips that simulate different styles of pencils, pens, or markers are expected. This could significantly enrich our writing and drawing on the iPad.
New M3 chip
Finally, in terms of performance, the new iPad Pro models are expected to be equipped with the M3 chip, representing a significant improvement in their processing capacity, especially in graphics. An improvement we've already seen in the high-end Mac and that would now come to the iPad where graphic applications and games could greatly benefit from it.
