iOS 19 rediseño

We are in a season of good news: recently, the fantastic iPhone 16e was launched with Apple Intelligence, A18, an impressive battery, and much more, featuring the C1, the first modem designed and developed by Apple. Additionally, new iPad Air models, new MacBook Airs, new M3 chips, and new Mac Studio have arrived.

And now, we know that with the launch of iOS 19, Apple is preparing one of the biggest transformations in iOS history. According to multiple rumors, the new version of the iPhone's operating system will introduce a completely redesigned interface inspired by visionOS, the software powering the Apple Vision Pro. This change aims to make the user experience more consistent across all Apple devices, unifying the design between iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

iOS 19: The Biggest visual change in decades

Leaks about the iOS 19 redesign come from several well-known Apple sources. The first hint came from the Israeli outlet The Verifier, which initially reported a visionOS-inspired redesign but pointed to iOS 18 instead of iOS 19. Later, leaker Jon Prosser reinforced these rumors by revealing renders of the new Camera app on his YouTube channel Front Page Tech. Finally, yesterday, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, known for his access to inside Apple information, confirmed that iOS 19 will bring a substantial redesign based on visionOS.

Based on this, we assume that the iOS 19 redesign will not be limited to minor aesthetic changes. According to Bloomberg, iOS 19 will bring a complete overhaul of icons, menus, apps, windows, and system buttons. We also expect a more simplified, modern aesthetic with "transparencies."

This will represent the biggest transformation of the iPhone interface since iOS 7 in 2013. This redesign will also extend to macOS 16 and iPadOS 19, consolidating a more homogeneous and cohesive look across all Apple devices.

iOS 19: The new iPhone interface

One of the first leaked changes, revealed by Jon Prosser, is the overhaul of the Camera app, featuring a cleaner and more intuitive design with new menu options. Additionally, although not yet confirmed, there is speculation that Apple might change the shape of home screen icons to make them circular, similar to those in visionOS.

Beyond design, another of Apple's goals with iOS 19 appears to be improving system navigation and control by optimizing gestures, system settings, and menus. This could mean we will encounter new ways to interact with our devices.

iOS 19: Release date and expectations

As usual, the official presentation of iOS 19 will take place at WWDC 2025 in June, Apple's annual developer event where all major software updates are announced. After a beta testing period, the final release is expected in September, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 17.

With this major transformation on the horizon, iOS 19 promises to be a turning point in the evolution of Apple's operating system. Now, we just have to wait to see if expectations are met and what surprises—there will surely be some—Apple has in store for us.
