How to Use Apple Intelligence from Europe

Apple-Intelligence-Europa

Apple Intelligence is here. With the first beta of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1, Apple's artificial intelligence arrives on our iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Even before its official release, Apple announced that Apple Intelligence would not be available in Europe. This holds true for iPhone and iPad users, but Mac users can still try out Apple's AI.

How can we try Apple Intelligence from Europe?

First, you'll need a compatible Mac with Apple Silicon chip. Next, you'll need a developer account (witch we can get for free on developer.apple.com), at least until the public beta of macOS 15.1 is released, in order to install this version on your Mac. Once you have these, the steps to get Apple Intelligence in Europe are as simple as follows:

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Go to General.
  3. Select Language & Region.
  4. Under Region, choose United States.
  5. You might be prompted to use "English (United States)" as your language. If not, add "English (United States)" in the language section and drag it to the top of the list.
  6. Restart your Mac.
  7. Open System Preferences again.
  8. Go to Apple Intelligence & Siri.
  9. Under Language, choose "English (United States)".
  10. At the top, click on Join Apple Intelligence Waitlist.
  11. Once approved, you can activate Apple Intelligence from the same System Preferences section.

That's it! You can now test Apple's new AI on your Mac from Europe. Keep in mind that authorization to try Apple Intelligence may take some time, usually no more than half an hour in most cases. Your Mac will notify you when it's ready.

It's worth noting that you do not need a US Apple ID or account; you can use the same account already configured on your Mac.

This is just the initial beta phase, but Apple Intelligence's writing tools, Safari summary function, transcriptions, and other features are already impressing users. With the steps outlined above, you can try them firsthand from Europe with ease.
