How to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus and why we should

ChatGPT Plus

Since its introduction in 2022, ChatGPT has steadily gained momentum. What started as a curious tool has now become essential for many of us in both our professional and personal lives. And if we’re among those who use ChatGPT frequently, we’ve probably asked ourselves at some point whether upgrading to the paid version is worth it. The answer is clear: yes, it is. Here’s how we can subscribe to ChatGPT Plus and why it’s a smart decision.

What ChatGPT Plus is and how to subscribe

ChatGPT Plus is the subscription plan offered by OpenAI to expand the chatbot’s capabilities. It costs $20 per month and can be activated directly from the ChatGPT website (chat.openai.com). We just need to log in with our OpenAI account, click on our name at the bottom left corner, and select "Upgrade to Plus." After that, we follow the steps, enter a payment method, and we’re done.

The subscription is monthly and can be cancelled at any time. But the truth is, if we use ChatGPT frequently—especially for work or more complex tasks—we’ll most likely want to keep enjoying its benefits.

What advantages ChatGPT Plus offers

Upgrading to ChatGPT Plus means multiplying everything we can already do with the free version. In addition to keeping basic features like access to recent models, real-time browsing, or the ability to use custom GPTs, the Plus version gives us access to something more powerful.

With Plus, we get access to GPT‑4.5, OpenAI’s largest and most advanced model to date. We also get full access to the o3 model family (including o3-mini and o3-mini-high) and the o1 model, designed for complex reasoning tasks. So if we’re working on sophisticated ideas, long-term projects, or need precision and context, the difference is immediate.

On top of that, limits are expanded. While in the free version the most powerful tools are only available in a limited way, ChatGPT Plus lets us use them much more freely. We’re talking about features like data analysis, image generation, file uploads, and voice interaction, for example.

With the active subscription, we can also create and manage projects, which helps us organise what we do within ChatGPT and build dedicated work “spaces.”

It also gives us limited access to Sora, OpenAI’s video generation tool. And we get access to the Canvas feature, which lets us work in a more visual way: on the left, we write our questions or instructions, and on the right, we see the final result taking shape. It’s perfect for writing, editing or programming projects.

And there’s more: it unlocks advanced Voice Mode, now with video and screen sharing included. This turns ChatGPT into a true conversational assistant we can talk to in real time, share what we’re seeing, and collaborate live.

A smoother, richer, and more useful experience

If we already use ChatGPT regularly—whether for work, study, or just daily support—upgrading to the Plus version improves everything and lets us get the most out of it: faster, more powerful, and more complete.

Plus, with the subscription, we get priority access to new features. So if we enjoy being among the first to try out what’s new, ChatGPT Plus always puts us in the front row.
