Losing the Apple TV remote — given how small it is — is easier than we’d like. Between the couch cushions, under a blanket or on a shelf, finding the Siri Remote always adds a bit of fun to any movie night. Luckily, we can use our iPhone to locate the Siri Remote quickly and precisely.
How to find the Siri Remote using the iPhone
If we have a 2021 or 2022 Apple TV 4K, we can use the iPhone’s own Control Center to know exactly where the remote is. A simple yet very useful feature, clearly reminiscent of tracking an AirTag using the Find My app.
This system lets us forget about searching through cushions, chairs or shelves, as the on-screen interface tells us whether we’re heading in the right direction or need to change course. With surprisingly high precision, we can find our Apple TV remote in just a few seconds. How? By following these simple steps:
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of our iPhone’s screen to open the Control Center.
- Tap the Apple TV Remote button. If it doesn’t appear, we can add it by long-pressing on any empty space in the Control Center.
- Once inside, tap the small chevron next to the remote’s name.
- Tap the Find option next to the name of the lost Siri Remote.
- The interface will appear on screen to guide us to the remote. We move as instructed until the white circle becomes solid.
- Once we’ve found it, we tap the X to close the search.
The simplicity of this system is one of its strongest features. We don’t need extra apps or anything similar — everything is built directly into the system and the tools we already use every day.
With the iPhone in hand — which, by the way, we can also use as an Apple TV remote — we can locate the remote in seconds and get back to enjoying our shows, movies or games on Apple TV.
