Apple is working on 3 completely new AI devices: here’s what we know

Apple trabaja en 3 dispositivos con IA totalmente nuevos- esto es lo que sabemos

Rumors suggest that Apple is working on three completely new AI devices: smart glasses, an AI pin, and AirPods with cameras. According to recent information, the company is accelerating development of these new wearables, all connected to the iPhone and designed to work alongside a much more capable version of Siri. The idea is simple: for artificial intelligence to be able to see what is in front of us and help us in real time in a much more natural way.

An AI that sees the same things we do

According to Bloomberg, Apple is preparing a new family of AI products focused on visual context. In other words, devices capable of understanding our surroundings in order to answer questions, guide us, or remember relevant information.

The common feature across these three products would be the camera. In every case, Apple wants AI to be able to “see” the environment around the person wearing them so that Siri can have a much richer understanding of what is happening around us.

Apple’s smart glasses

Of the three products, the smart glasses are the most eye-catching. They are said to compete with the Meta Ray-Ban glasses, although Apple wants to set them apart with better materials, more refined build quality, and a higher-quality camera.

Apparently, for these glasses, Apple is preparing a high-resolution main camera for photos and video, along with a second camera aimed at interpreting the surroundings and measuring distances, in an idea similar to the iPhone’s LiDAR. That way, we could look at an object and ask what it is, read a sign, receive directions while walking, or even use live translation.

These glasses would not have a display in the lenses, so our interaction with them would be voice-based, with Siri at the center of everything. We could make calls, listen to music, take photos, record videos, and check contextual information very naturally.

According to reports, Apple has already delivered prototypes to its hardware engineering team and is targeting 2027 as the launch date. Production could begin in December of this same 2026. In addition, the company is said to be working on its own frames, several sizes and colors, and a battery built into the structure itself so that we can wear them all day.

The AI pin and AirPods with cameras

In the case of the AI pin and the AirPods with cameras, we are talking about devices designed to provide visual context to AI. In other words, rather than being standalone devices in their own right, they would serve as accessories to help better understand what is in front of us so that Siri can respond more accurately, as if they were the iPhone’s “eyes and ears.”

For now, the AI pin appears to be in an early stage and still seems like an open-ended project, although it could also arrive in 2027. It would be an accessory for the iPhone, with a microphone, camera, and a dedicated chip similar to the one in AirPods, in a clip or pendant format, so that it can be worn on a shirt, on a bag, or even on a necklace.

The idea of AirPods with cameras, meanwhile, seems to be further along. In fact, there is talk that they could arrive this very year. Which fits with what we expect from a much more conversational Siri in iOS 27.

And as if that were not enough, rumors claim that Apple has full augmented reality glasses in mind, as well as a smart home display that could arrive later this year. After that would come a more ambitious version, with a larger screen and a robotic arm, planned for 2027. In addition, a new HomePod is also said to be on the way, along with a compact indoor sensor focused on home security and automation.

We will see which of all these rumors turn out to be true. But what is clear is that this future, which seemed so far away just a few years ago, is just around the corner. Soon, we will be able to interact with technology and artificial intelligence in a completely new way.
