iOS 27 may have some surprises in store: these are the 3 features Apple has created but has not unveiled yet

iOS 27 puede traer sorpresas

Apple has already unveiled the major new features in iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, and the rest of its operating systems coming this autumn. And we have even seen hundreds of smaller changes that will also make a real difference on our devices. Even so, everything suggests the company still has a few tricks up its sleeve. According to a report published after WWDC 2026, Apple already has three features in development that could arrive alongside the new iPhone and Apple Watch models. Let’s take a look.

Siri is getting ready to talk to more artificial intelligences

The most interesting feature of all is probably in Siri. Over the last few years, we have seen Apple laying the groundwork for its assistant to become much more capable, more contextual, and more deeply integrated with our apps. With iOS 27, the company wants to go one step further by allowing Siri to connect directly with other artificial intelligence services through an extensions system.

The idea is especially important because it changes the way we understand integration with services such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude. Until now, Apple has had a specific integration with ChatGPT thanks to its agreement with OpenAI, but the goal with iOS 27 would be much broader. Any compatible app could offer its capabilities directly through Siri via an extensions API, meaning we could choose which service we want to use depending on the task at hand.

A Camera app that feels much more like ours and a simpler Modular Ultra watch face

The other major pending feature in iOS 27 would be found in the Camera app. Apple is said to have worked on a far more customisable version, designed so that we can move controls around and place them wherever feels most comfortable. Seen that way, it may sound like a small change, but it could go a long way on a device we constantly use to take photos and record videos.

The iPhone Camera app has gained more options with every generation: advanced video modes, Photographic Styles, depth controls, ProRAW, ProRes, exposure settings, macro photography, Action mode, and many more tools. With so many possibilities, being able to arrange the controls according to the way we take photos makes a lot of sense. Those who often record video may want certain shortcuts closer at hand. Those who photograph documents may prioritise others. Those who use the iPhone as their main camera will appreciate an interface that better adapts to their habits.

The third pending feature would be related to watchOS 27 and the Apple Watch. Apple is said to have developed a simpler version of the Modular Ultra face, one of the most recognisable faces on the Apple Watch Ultra. The idea would be to keep the large central clock of this watch face while reducing some of its complexity by removing a second row of complications.
