iOS 27 is just around the corner: everything we know about the new Siri

iOS 27 está a la vuelta de la esquina- todo lo que sabemos del nuevo Siri

Siri is rumored to be set for its biggest change yet with iOS 27, as Apple appears to be preparing the most significant evolution of its assistant to date. Everything suggests we are finally about to see a Siri that is far more conversational, more capable, and much more present across the system. There is talk of a new Siri chatbot, a dedicated app, deep integration with the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and an experience clearly intended to compete with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

Siri in iOS 27 is expected to make the leap into a true chatbot

If Siri already helps us with quick tasks, simple questions, and specific actions, iOS 27 seems set to take things to a whole new level. According to the rumors, Apple wants us to be able to hold fluid conversations, request multi-step tasks, summarize information, analyze files, and even generate content or images.

Based on what has surfaced so far, Siri would have a standalone app in the style of today’s chatbots. There we would find a conversation history, in-chat search, favorites, saved chats, and suggestions for starting new queries. All of it would come with an interface reminiscent of Messages, complete with chat bubbles and a distinctly Apple-like design.

A more personal, more visual, and much more integrated Siri

One of the key elements of this new phase would be integration. Siri could search the web with visual results, summarize documents, understand files we upload, analyze what is on our screen, and move more smoothly between apps. It would also partly replace Spotlight for internal searches on the device, while Siri Suggestions would become more relevant thanks to access to more personal context.

Siri would also be getting a new look. There is talk of refreshed animations, a translucent results panel, possible integration into the Dynamic Island, and even “Ask Siri” buttons inside other apps. It would be a very substantial evolution, designed to make AI more present in our day-to-day lives and to blend naturally with Apple’s familiar visual style.

Gemini, extensions, and launch date

Another important detail lies in the underlying technology. Apparently, Apple has reached an agreement with Google to use Gemini as the engine behind Siri’s new features, including a customized model for the chatbot.

There is also talk of extensions for third-party services. In other words, we will be able to choose in Settings whether we want certain queries to be handed off to ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, all through Siri.

In any case, WWDC 2026 is almost here, so the wait is about to be over. On June 8, we will find out which of these rumors are true. And, as always, Apple is sure to have plenty of surprises in store for us.
