We have been waiting for a major evolution of Siri for quite some time, one where, thanks to artificial intelligence, it becomes far more conversational and natural and plays a bigger role in our daily activities. And it finally seems to be happening: everything points to Apple preparing a standalone Siri app for the iPhone.
The new Siri app in iOS 27 could change the way we use the iPhone
According to Bloomberg, Apple wants to turn Siri into its own dedicated app experience in iOS 27.
The most interesting thing about this possible new feature is that we are not just talking about a visual redesign. We are talking about a different way of interacting with Siri. As has been reported, the app would display our previous conversations in a list format or as rounded cards, with the option to save conversations, an internal search feature, favorites, and a prominent button to start a new chat.
The idea is directly reminiscent of chatbot apps that already dominate the market, such as ChatGPT or Claude, but with a familiar, clean, and fully integrated interface and design. The conversation format would resemble Messages, with bubbles, a text field, and an option to switch between voice and text. In addition, we could upload documents or photos for Siri to analyze. There is also talk of Siri being able to make automatic suggestions when starting a conversation, based on our previous usage. Everything we expect today from an AI tool, but within Apple’s ecosystem.
Why this Siri app has so much potential
Artificial intelligence apps have already become some of the most downloaded and most used apps on the iPhone. So it is easy to imagine that an app in this category, installed by default, perfectly integrated with the system, and designed with the visual language we already know, would be a success.
Let’s imagine all the abilities and features of ChatGPT integrated with Photos, Files, Messages, Calendar, Contacts, and much more. This would make interacting with AI even more convenient, direct, and consistent with how we already use our devices in everyday life. With the convenience of always having it there, inside the iPhone and designed in Apple’s style. Honestly, it is hard to imagine a more appealing combination.
