On our iPhone, we have the option to hide the names of apps and widgets. It’s a small aesthetic tweak that lets us enjoy a cleaner, more minimalist and elegant design. How do we do it? Let’s talk about it.

Hiding app names on iPhone

The process to hide the names of apps and widgets is really simple, although there’s something to keep in mind. Let’s start with the steps, which are as follows:

  1. We press and hold an empty space on the Home Screen until the icons start to jiggle.
  2. We tap the Edit button that appears in the top-left corner.
  3. We select the Customize option.
  4. In the menu that drops down at the bottom, we choose the Large size.
  5. We tap anywhere on the screen to exit the options and save the changes.

We’ll immediately see that both icons and widgets appear slightly larger. Not much bigger, but enough for the name to no longer show on the screen.
