Updates: iOS 18.3, macOS 15.3, and more arrive with several new features —update as soon as possible

iOS 18.3

Apple has rolled out updates for all our devices. iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, macOS 15.3, watchOS 11.3, tvOS 18.3, and visionOS 2.3 are now available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. These updates bring a host of exciting changes, including advancements in Apple Intelligence, new features, and security improvements. Let’s dive into the details.

Apple Intelligence: automatically activated and smarter than ever

The key highlight of iOS 18.3 is the revamped behavior of Apple Intelligence. While Apple’s artificial intelligence system will only be available in Europe starting in April, outside Europe, Apple Intelligence is now automatically activated on all compatible devices after installing the update.

In terms of functionality, there are enhancements aimed at improving the accuracy of notification summaries we receive. Summaries for news and entertainment notifications are temporarily disabled while Apple works on a more advanced system. Additionally, acknowledging that some notifications might not require summaries, users can now manage notification summaries directly from the lock screen.

With a simple swipe left and a tap on “Options,” users can disable summaries for individual apps. Finally, summaries are now displayed in italic text, allowing users to easily distinguish them from regular notifications at a glance.

Visual Intelligence, Genmoji, Calculator, and more —but security takes center stage

On the iPhone 16, Apple takes Visual Intelligence a step further. Users can now use the camera to automatically create events in the calendar with just one photo. A minor but welcome change has also been added to the Calculator app: the ability to repeat the last operation by double-tapping the equals button.

Additionally, a new wallpaper has been added to the Black Unity 2025 collection. On the Mac, macOS Sequoia 15.3 introduces Genmoji, enabling users to create custom emojis directly within Messages and other apps.

Beyond the new features, iOS 18.3 and the other system updates bring significant security enhancements. Apple has addressed 25 major vulnerabilities, including two kernel vulnerabilities that could allow malicious apps to gain system privileges. A bug in CoreMedia, which may have been actively exploited in previous versions, has also been fixed.

With these improvements in functionality and security, it’s highly recommended to install these updates as soon as possible. You can find them ready to install under Settings > General > Software Update—just one tap away from keeping your devices up to date.
