We often need to speak in public, whether at a conference, business meeting, or even social events. One of the biggest challenges is maintaining the flow of our talk without forgetting key points. This is where using a teleprompter can be incredibly helpful. And what better than having this tool right on our iPhone or iPad?
How to turn our iPhone or iPad into a teleprompter
With Apple's Pages app, we have the ability to turn our iPhone or iPad into a truly functional and very practical teleprompter. A very simple process that can greatly help to keep our notes at hand discreetly and efficiently.
To start, the first thing we need is to have the notes for our presentation or speech saved in a Pages document. Then, we follow these steps:
- Open the Pages app on our iPhone or iPad.
- Open the document with our notes.
- Press the button with three dots, located at the top right of the screen.
- Tap on Presenter Mode and, if we are informed about what this mode means, tap OK.
By doing this, we will see how the format of the document changes: the background turns black, the lettering becomes white, and all content is enlarged, making it easier to read from a distance. Once in presenter mode, we have several options to make reading even more comfortable and personalized. Here's what we can do, always by tapping the Aa button at the top right:
- Adjust the font size with the small or large A at the top.
- Select a background color by simply tapping one of the four color circles.
- Choose the font we want to use.
- In Text Options, we can activate if we want to use uppercase only. Also, line spacing and margin percentage.
- Finally, we can activate Automatic Scrolling so that the text moves at a constant speed that we can adjust with the slider that appears just below. With this option activated, we can tap the screen to pause or resume the activated scrolling.
Using our iPhone or iPad as a teleprompter with Pages is a clever and very efficient solution to maintain a fluid and professional discourse. A tool that helps us remember key points and in which we can customize the reading experience according to our preferences. Thus, while also enjoying the reactions and gestures on FaceTime, we can focus on what's most important: conveying our message clearly.
